Second TUC Challenge for the week...

The second challenge for the week was hosted by Heather (Stamping Mommy).  The challenge was to create our own DSP.  HERE are the specifics of the challenge.  I used the stamp set by Inkadinkado called An Affair of the Heart.  I stamped it all over the white cardstock and mounted it on the black paper.  I stamped the sentiment from (of course) PTI...Mega Mixed Messages in Stazon Black and added 2 tiny rhinestones for a little extra bling.

Tangeled Up In Creativity Red, White & Blue Challenge

This weeks challenge is being hosted by She Who Must Stamp (Paige from Tangled Up in Creativity on SCS).  The challenge details are HERE.  The challenge was to use Red, White & Blue.  The card didn't necessarily need to be a patriotic card, but the colors had to be used.  I broke out a very old set I had from SU! called Stars & Swirls.  I am not even sure it is still carried by them.  I also stamped the stars in Brilliant Blue.  The cardstock is unknown as well as the brads.  The card is pretty plain for me...but I did as a line in Brilliant Blue as well to give the card a bit of something.

Upcoming Craft Fair???

So there is a chance I may do a craft fair in September...I have started working on what I will be selling.  Today's post is a gift card holder.  I found some great tutorials on YouTube...so I combined a bunch to come up with a style that is an amalgam (sp?) of them.  This is a gift card holder made out of an old SU! DSP...I think Apple Cider (?).  I stopped being a demo long ago and kept a few things but auctioned off quite a bit awhile ago.  I still think the top of the gift card holder needs something like a flower or embellishment of some sort.  I used a new Nestie to cut the paper...the tutorial used the Top Note Die Cut, but I connot justify getting a new die cutting system when I love my Cuttlebug so much.
The problem with doing a craft fair is...I am not sure what or how much to make.  I don't want to think of making a bunch of things and then only to be left with a ton of things after...as well as making too little of things and then not having enough to sell when I am there.

Something quick for today...

I did a quick 8.5x11 page layout. I do not normally use page sketches but I found a great collection of them at scrapbooksetc.com and used one for this layout. I had the photo processed the other day and it is a larger size than what I normally process...but I LOVED the photo...my two kids have the craziest faces and then there is Abby...with a perfect smile! The paper that was used was from Basic Grey-Sugar Rush. I added a few buttons and circle punches and I did something else I don't normally do...use my own handwriting for the journaling. Enjoy!
